so- thought i'd start a thread to see how life is treating you folks !

I am a little down lately, the economy sucks, glad I moved most of my retirement funds out of stocks and into Money Market back in January . . . Miss my kids I lost to the washtowel . . wish I could retire . . . I work too hard, worked on my house every day of my vacation . .
on the plus side . . . We have some beautiful Cardinals nesting in the back yard!!!
And . . I have a good job and an awesome wife. It all balances out for the most part.
as some of you know, me and my wife 2 years ago were accused of " circumstancial fornication" 1 month before we were married because my ex wife ( divorced 1998) and my youngest daughter , both witnesses, drove an hour and a half away from where they lived to find me at my fiances house at 9:30 a.m. in the morning to take my fiance to get her tires fixed.
both my fiance and me were fully clothed !
then my ex-wife ran and gossipped to my witness parents and older siblings about it , bringing about them writing condemning letters to me ; without even checking out the accuracy of the false charges.
Mr Flipper . . Sounds like you and I share some of the same family members . . Reading your account made me very angry as it brought back many of the hurtful things my own brothers and father did to me. Of my three brothers, only the youngest (I am the oldest of 4) who never bought into the Kraptower came. My Father the Uber Super Critical (Hypocritical Womanizing Cheating) Elder came for the ceremony (civil ceremony in the gardens of a Bed and Breakfast) which was a shocker, but did not stay for the reception. I later learned (many years later) that the only reason he was there is because my mom told him he had two choices, go with her, or be gone when she got home.
The rest of my family and my new wifes family saw them exactly as you described, hateful and ignorant. A fine witness.
But, they're in a cult and I'm not.

yet another n00b here in your midst.
let's see here.....i'm about to hit the big 22, and i just came from nc to the steel city.
Me and my buddy Trevor cut a pretty wide swath through the hotties in central Ontario back in the early 70's. Heck, sometimes we'd get lucky during the break and spend the next session with a couple hotties in Trevor's VW Beetle out in the woods somewhere. . .tee hee! But we had to be back before the closing song!!!!
Sigh . . I often wonder what ever happened to that cutie from Saulte St Marie . . man she taught me a few things . . .
for those of you that don't know me in person and think im a hateful grump, well that is not the real me.. .

That is life, not everyone is going to like you. I work on the basis that most people will think I'm an idiot, much less disappointment that way.

last night my youngest kid was playing.
at the local bandshell with a "city band".... the theme, of course, 4th of july...... all the kids, and a g/f besides, were there.
and their papa and me..... on the lakeshore with an amazing sunset..... they played a medley of the armed services anthems.
